Enamelled Copper Wire – THW

COPPER WIRE TO SUIT A WIDE RANGE OF COIL WINDING APPLICATIONS

THW series

Specifically designed for coil windings that may be subjected to higher voltage spikes, and the wire has exhibited increased resistance to partial discharges and improved abrasion resistance to repeated scrape.

The combination of the modified polyester and polyamide-imide coatings provides an insulation system with outstanding toughness and excellent dielectric properties.

Fully Insulated Wire – FIW

ZERO-DEFECT ENAMELLED ROUND COPPER WIRE

High thermal class and high voltage resistance

Fully insulated wire (FIW) zero-defect enameled round cooper wire with high thermal class, zero-defect strengthened insulation and high voltage resistance compliance with IEC 60317-56 / IEC 60950 and NEMA MW85-C. The wire can meet the requirements of miniaturized components, good winding performance and low cost, ideal for compact transformers and electronic switches.

Litz Wire

REDUCE AC LOSSES IN HIGH FREQUENCY WINDINGS

Increased efficiency, mitigation of skin effect and proximity effect

Litz wire reduces the increase in resistance of wire that takes place at higher AC frequencies due to skin effect and proximity effect.

A conductor with a larger area has a lower resistance for a given length. However at high frequencies, alternating current (AC) does not penetrate deeply into conductors due to eddy currents induced in the material; it tends to flow near the surface. This is called skin effect. Therefore in a solid conductor like a wire, current tends to flow in a layer or annulus at the surface, and less current flows through the material near the center of the wire.

In applications where multiple wires carrying the same current lie side-by-side, such as in inductor and transformer windings, a second similar effect called proximity effect causes additional current crowding, resulting in an additional increase in the resistance of the wire with frequency.

To solve the problem, litz wire which employs a stranded wire with individually insulated conductors, is a very effective solution. Each thin conductor is less than a skin-depth, so an individual strand does not suffer an appreciable skin effect loss. Every strand is insulated from each other and it takes all possible positions in the cross section of the overall conductor.

Next Generation Insulated Wire – QIW

INTEGRATE POLYIMIDE FILM AND WIDE RANGE OF CODUCTOR CHOICES

The best performance of reinforced insulation

QIW series is integrating polyimide film and wide range of conductor choices, to deliver the next generation reinforced insulated wire. It has UL and VDE approvals, as well as complying UL 60601 for medical equipment. Thermal class is covering Class B, F, H, and it’s available in round and profiled type.

Tin-plated Wire

ROBUST PROTECTION AGAINST CORROSION AND OXIDATION

Corrosion resistance and easy to solder

Tin-plated wire is an uninsulated wire that is coated by a layer of tin. Bare copper wire is prone to oxidation over time compared with tin-plated wire. The tin coating protects wire from oxidation in humid and rainy conditions, and high heat environments. Tin-plated wire will be ideal in environments with long-term exposure to excess moisture to prolong the lifespan of copper conductors.

Triple Insulated Wire

VERY HIGH DIELECTRIC STRENGTH AND BREAKDOWN VOLTAGE

THL-B series

THL-B series, thermal class at 130°C, is a unique product for high frequency transformers. Three layer extruded coatings of high performance polymer resins gives excellent dielectric properties to this type of winding wires. Unlike enameled wires, three layers of insulation are extruded over the copper conductor with automated manufacturing process, to ensure perfect central position of conductor.

The conventional enameled wire winding coils requires insulation between the primary and secondary coils by means of barrier tape or interlayer tape to isolate primary and secondary windings. Since three layers coating is having very high dielectric strength, it has very less creepage factor. This positive feature of THL serves to downsize switching transformers and promises high production efficiency and cost reduction. Depending on the design, the transformer size can be reduced up to 40% and weight up to 60% as compared to transformers made of enameled wires.
